Our residential landscape design fees typically range from $1,500 to $5,000. The exact number depends on your property size, project complexity, and the deliverables required. After an initial consultation, we'll provide a tailored proposal outlining scope, deliverables, and design fees.
Depending on the project, our landscape design service can include: consultation and needs assessment, site survey and analysis, concept plans, scaled landscape plans, 3D renderings, design revisions, hardscape construction drawings, planting plans, lighting plans, material and feature selection, base construction drawings with dimensions, and scope and pricing, among other things. What's ultimately delivered for your property is tailored to your site, budget, permitting, and what construction requires.
We'll talk through your budget expectations early on, and shape the plan around the right level of investment. Our design service pricing generally falls into these ranges: Front Yard Design (Curb Appeal Upgrade), starting at $1,200. Backyard Design (Outdoor Living Space Upgrade), starting at $1,800. Consultation (hourly, depending on location), starting at $150.
Permit and approval requirements depend on your municipality, your property, and the work involved. Projects that may need a permit or additional documentation include pools, decks, cabanas, accessory structures, retaining walls, grading changes, site alteration, and protected trees. Even where a building permit isn't required, zoning and setback requirements may still apply. Toronto, Mississauga, Oakville, and Hamilton each handle these requirements differently. During design and pre-construction planning, we identify what approvals your project may need, and coordinate with the municipality, engineers, surveyors, arborists, or other professionals as needed.
It depends on your needs and the project itself. A landscape designer can plan your entire outdoor space — layout, hardscape, planting, lighting, and outdoor living features. A contractor is mainly responsible for pricing and building the work. Choosing us makes this simpler. You won't have to worry about the finished result not matching the design, and you won't be stuck coordinating multiple teams, or dealing with finger-pointing when something falls short.
We offer both landscape design services and full-service project delivery. If your project only needs design, we'll prepare the drawings and documentation needed to understand the project, get pricing, and move into construction. If your project needs the full, worry-free service, we'll be with you end to end. We stay your main point of contact throughout, coordinating trusted trade teams and overseeing key decisions during construction, so the original vision is carried through from start to finish.
